Done

I started the day, after schooling, with tatting up cat ears and sewing them to headbands. I only did two, so I might do some more today. They tend to sell in little clusters and then sit in the shop for months. I also made a few slight adjustments to the pattern and a change to how I sew them on. They still look the same though.

After those two were done I finished the last round of the Armenian lace doily. I also ordered up a frame to see if my gift idea will work out with it. So when that arrives, I get to experiment on the best way to mount them without destroying. I already have a couple of ideas and I'm hoping that the simplest one is the right one. If it works then I order more frames and a large chunk of our holiday gifts are taken care of.

I'm about halfway through the novel I'm reading now, so it will still be sometime before I have the desire to shift gears to any other big project. I do still have the knitting project though, so that should fill in for the knotting for a spell.

Kitty Cat Ears

You remember a couple of weeks ago when I was planning my future projects and I stated more than once that I really ought to work on getting more kitty ear headbands and masks made? If you do then you probably also remember how I kept stalling and getting distracted by nonsense and didn't do any of that. Well, it turns out that I really ought to have done what I told myself to do. I've sold five kitty ear headbands since August. Now, I know that doesn't sound like much, but for me, that's a frickin' best seller. Since my original headband source dried up, I've had to start ordering them online and painting them black before I can add the tatted ears. It's not a lot of extra work, but it takes some time to do and to let them dry.

So today I'm painting the rest of the headbands I have on hand to get them ready for the lace. Then I'll tat up as many ears as I can handle making and get them all sewed together once the headbands are dry. I tell you all this so I have clear instructions to myself. No matter what other nonsense I get up to today, this task must get done. I just can't keep up when I just make one at a time. I do still have a couple of other things to finish making, but given the sell rate of these, I'm making them a priority. Of course as soon as I do finish this task, they will immediately cease selling and I will be stuck with half a dozen headbands sitting about because that's just the way things seem to go down around here.

Sorry I didn't have anything too interesting happen yesterday to liven up this post. It was just a normal day of schooling and tatting. The cats weren't even terribly entertaining. Let's hope the Universe provides today or this is going to start feeling like a rut and I don't like ruts, routine sure, but not ruts.

Purr

Wow, for the first time ever I was contacted by both winners I'm guessing as soon as they saw the post. So both those prizes are being sent on their way this morning. As much as I enjoy doing giveaways I think that I'm officially worn out on them for the time being.

In other news I did get the new kitty ears finished and finally listed too. Don't worry that's just a blond wig I'm wearing in the photo. My hair is freshly dyed all nice and blue and purple, but folks don't like to buy things other people have worn on their heads. We'll see how it's received now that it's listed and that will determine whether I bother making more or not.

Other than that I spent the day working on some ankle corsets just to get some extras made up. I also ran out to overnight a pair of them to someone very interesting. No, I'm not going to tell you who, but it's just another one of those might be something great, might be nothing at all things. You know how I feel about raising hopes, but it was, as I said, an interesting sale.

I don't have anything but production work planned for today, so look out for another boring post tomorrow morning. Well, this was quite a short post, but I've nothing else to share so it will have to be enough. I guess I'm off to my treadmill now.
