Naked

Well, what do you know, we heard back yesterday regarding the house. I don't know if they were waiting for the first of the month, the end of the fiscal year or if the timing was just coincidence, but I suppose it doesn't really matter. We don't have a lot of details yet. We were only told that both banks have approved the deal and would like us to start on our loan to close by the end of the month. So all that stress created by not knowing has been immediately replaced by the anxiety of, 'Oh, my gods, we're actually buying a house'. This anxiety will likely plague us for the coming month, so I apologize in advance if I drone on about it repeatedly until you want to harm me.

In other news, I fell victim to peer pressure. That's right, I did...so, umm it's not my fault blame them. Oh, yeah, a few of my friends from the twitter are fashion bloggers at The Demoiselles and there has been much discussion regarding some photos on the cover of the French Elle with a makeup-less Scarlett Johansson. The discussion resulted in a few of them posting photos of themselves without makeup. Now, honestly I am addicted to my eye liner. I do not like to leave the house without it, but this was peer pressure remember. So here they are, fresh out of the shower, my makeup-less photos.I was going to do them in black and white to better hide, well...everything, but I opted for just a bit of a fade. My hair is still wet and is in serious need of a freshening of color. They aren't as bad as I thought they would be, but this is definitely the only time this is happening, so enjoy.

  1. I guess maybe I'm the only woman in existence who DOESN'T wear makeup on a regular basis.

In college i went for the outrageous stuff - blue or black lipstick, heavy eyeliners & mascara, vividly colored fingernails... but I only did it on a rare occasion. At this point, i probably haven't worn makeup in several years.

Kudos to you women who have the patience to apply it daily, and double kudos for stepping from behind the mask for a bit!

  3. Eh, the only makeup I regularly wear is colored lip balm. I put on moisturizer & sunscreen daily but other than that, I just don't have the patience. I admire those who do so daily and it's nice to see what you look like without it.

And Pamela, you look fine without makeup.

  4. I also never wear make up. Maybe once a month, and that is really really pushing it.

Go you! More make-uplessness for all!

  8. I hardly ever wear makeup. But with or without, I look just as bad. Oh to have inherited the ugly gene. Luckily you and your sister and brothers did inherit it.

On another ramble, I have boxes if you want them.

  10. I think you look like tv hottie Mary Louise Parker sans make-up (or maybe I've just never noticed it before).

  11. I feel you on the eyeliner thing - I don't generally leave the house sans mascara (my eyelashes are SO LIGHT).

    You do look gorgeous! xo

  12. You look lovely! I was thinking by "naked" you just meant "sans mask." Heh.

My best friend has never had makeup on her face that I know of--she goes naked every day! :-) I'm a minimalist, usually just concealer, powder and eyeliner. My "must-have" makeup is concealer under my eyes--I look absolutely tortured without it, and always have. So you won't see me being brave in a blog. :-/

  13. Gosh, thanks for the nice words all!

I'm a little shocked at how many people don't wear makeup at all, mornings must be much quicker for you.

  14. At the ripe old age of 27, I finally bought my first make-up back in May. Every picture of me on-line is with a "naked" face. I'll remedy that soon, but I do still go sans make-up most days.

Mornings are very quick for me. I'm invariably ready to leave the house minutes before my husband is.

  16. Oh. My. God. You look amazing. You look absolutely amazing! I'm so excited that you opted to go for it - and it totally paid off! You are SMOKIN', girl!

I vote for no eyeliner ever again (eyes are PERFECT!!), but I can't stop you. Besides, I've been known to molest a couple kohl pencils in my day...

    MUCH love!

  17. I never wear makeup unless I am pressured into it for very special occassions. I think women look better without it. You look great!

  18. This 'naked' look is fine to me! I'm not protesting. No need to 'hide' the pretty face.

  19. Congrats on your house! I just did that very scary ride and still can't believe that I own my very own house. It's a rush and scary as hell but oh so very worth it.

I heart your hair color and make-up less photos. You look fine hon :)

  20. Beautiful! You look amazing without makeup. I missed this the first time around...

I also only wear makeup on stage or in costume... not daily. Too busy, really, plus I don't really like having stuff on my face.

    And congrats on the house!
